SAFE Essex is a pd registered charity dedicated to raising autism awareness and providing essential support to autistic people without an additional learning disability) and their families across Essex, Southend, and Thurrock.

Work Description

SAFE empowers its members through a range of activities, support groups, and practical advice aimed at fostering social skills, confidence, and independence. Key services include:

• Social & Skills Development Groups: Running a variety of support groups in Mid and South Essex;

• One-to-One Support: Bookable sessions with a Development Worker for personalised advice and signposting on complex issues;

• Practical Guidance: Offering information and guidance on critical areas such as Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), benefit claims, financial support, and preparation for the job market.

• Awareness: Campaigning for better services, understanding, and acceptance of autism in the local community.
